Training & Development Programs

Empowering entrepreneurs with practical skills, knowledge, and strategies for long-term business success.

At Afri Inspire, training is practical, timely, and rooted in real business needs. We don’t run theory-heavy programs or generic courses. We create learning spaces that respond to where entrepreneurs actually are right now.

Our training and development work is designed to help entrepreneurs:

  • Understand tools and systems they need today
  • Make smarter decisions with confidence
  • Adapt to changing business and digital landscapes
  • Grow without losing their identity or values
How Our Training Works

Our sessions are:

  • Short and focused – designed to be immediately useful
  • Accessible – no jargon, no pressure, no gatekeeping
  • Context-aware – built for small businesses, creatives, and community entrepreneurs
  • Evolving – shaped by what our vendors and community ask for

Training may take the form of:

  • Workshops and learning sessions
  • Tool-based demonstrations
  • Guided conversations and peer learning
  • Collaborations with facilitators and specialists

What We Focus On

Our training themes reflect real gaps we see on the ground, including:

  • Digital tools and emerging technology
  • Business operations and systems
  • Visibility, branding, and storytelling
  • Adapting to new markets and customer expectations

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all learning. We believe in meeting people where they are and moving forward together.

What’s Coming Up

AI use and Applications

From time to time, we host focused workshops to introduce new tools and ideas that can support small businesses. In 2026, we’re hosting AI-focused workshops designed to help entrepreneurs understand how artificial intelligence can be used simply and responsibly in everyday business from content creation to productivity and planning. Our approach to AI (and any new tool) is grounded in clarity, ethics, and practical use.

Vendor Growth Program

Through a carefully curated series of workshops, we focus on the core areas that drive real growth for black businesses: from business validation and brand positioning to pricing, financial structure, marketing, and long-term scalability. Each session builds on the next, creating a practical learning journey that equips entrepreneurs with the clarity, tools, and confidence to make informed decisions and grow intentionally.

This is not just about learning; it is about applying, refining, and building businesses that are prepared for real opportunities. As the program continues to evolve, we share live updates, insights, and moments from each session across our community.

Why This Matters

For many African entrepreneurs in Manitoba, the challenge isn’t a lack of ambition; it’s a gap between opportunity and access. Most training programs have familiarity with local systems, networks, and unspoken rules of business. But for newcomers, those systems often feel unclear, inaccessible, or not built with their realities in mind.

At Afri Inspire, we recognize that:

  • Starting a business in a new country comes with hidden barriers
  • Access to capital, networks, and trusted guidance is not equal
  • Cultural context shapes how people learn, decide, and grow

That’s why our training is designed to be practical, culturally aware, and immediately applicable.

We focus on:

  • Reducing overwhelm
  • Building real confidence through clarity
  • Strengthening capacity step by step

Because sustainable businesses aren’t built on information alone; they are built when people understand the system they are in, and how to navigate it with confidence.
